President's Day
President's Day came and I have not yet taught anything about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Coming back from a long weekend I was surprised that my students really didn't mind reading, writing and creating some President Day projects. Plan Book
This is a great way to manage a plan book as an elementary teacher. Having it all typed up with objectives and activities is a great format to follow. I also like the end of this planner so the week can be summed up with additional room for notes. The other part of this plan book is that it is vertical rather than horizontal. For me, this format makes sense as opposed to the plan books the school orders and distributes in bulk. This format is also ideal if you have a principal who likes to look over your plan book or you need to share it with team members. I was given this template by another teacher a few years ago and it has been adapted as needed each year as schedules change. Overall, it is an excellent resource to use year after year. Diphthong - ai
As the school year progresses teaching a 1st/2nd split, I have had to continue to create lessons to break down more complex phonics lessons for my students. They are so captivated by powerpoints and hands on activites. Click here to get your copy of the lesson and click here for the word sort and activities that go with it.
